Blank Book/Journal with Wood Cover

Here is a little bookbinding project, sewn with a coptic codex stitch with 1/4 inch oak for cover. It's a nice stitch that allows the book to lie flat when open.

Mountains Portfolio

Another junior size portfolio with famous Colorado mountains carved on it. The Front shows the Maroon Bells, and the back, Mt. Holy Cross. I used a two-tone lacing technique on the edges.

The Mermaid Bag

This was a special commission purse with a mermaid on one side and a ship on the other.

Detail of ship carving.

Detail of mermaid carving.

Detail of side of purse: "Titanium Mermaid"

Horses Portfolio

Here's another junior portfolio with horses framed by an oak leaf pattern.

Junior Size Portfolio--Elk

This portfolio is sized to hold a junior size pad or, in my own case, a half sheet sized blank book. The inside also has two pockets for other papers.

Log and Pallet workspace

I needed a standing height work space, so I made two 36" high benches from pine branches (some recycled from previous projects no longer in use) and hardwood shipping pallets. Notice the obligatory cat in the chair.

Leather Photo Frames

Here are a couple of frames I made to hold 4x6 horizontal photos.

Belt Case for Cell Phone

This phone case has a clip on the back to attach to a belt or waistband, and a magnetic flap closure. Sized for a Motorola Razr.

Rustic Log Chair

This is one of the first chairs I made, out of pine branches and old shipping pallet wood.

Checkerboard Side Table

This side table was made from pine branches and an old wooden checkerboard I found at an antique/junk store.

Leather Organizer Wallet

This is a wallet I carved sized to hold a very small calendar or passport along with cash and credit cards.

Carved Celtic Cross

This is a celtic cross pattern based on an actual stone cross in Strathmartin, Scotland.

Tree fork coat rack

Here is one of my favorite types of rustic wood projects: using tree forks to make a place to hang things. I have one for coats, one for towels in the bathroom, and one for towels in the kitchen.

Welcome to The Wild Wood
